This Is The Moment

Every song I write happens in a different way. This one started off with a piano lick I was playing. As I was playing it over and over, the first lyrics of the song came to me, “this is reality.” I had been reading a lot of theoretical physics books at the time and had been fascinated with it all. The lyrics and melody of this song unfolded very quickly for me in a stream of consciousness kind of way. It’s always mysterious to me how songs come to me. Sometimes it almost feels as if I am channeling things and it is not me who is writing it, but as if it is coming from somewhere else. One could say maybe it’s coming from God or the subconscious or something like that. I had a title going through my head, this is the moment, and the lyrics kept pointing back to that title.
