I sometimes say that when I am writing a song it can feel as if I am almost channeling it. I try not to filter it, especially when a melody or words are coming out. I will let it happen and then go back later and maybe revise things. In the case of this song, it was a sort of stream of consciousness thing, lyrically. I wasn’t allowing myself to overthink it, just going with the flow.
